Fistful of Cake logo revealed!

This is the “official” logo for Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake! Sony was kind enough to let us do the honors and unveil it (although you can catch a glimpse of it in some of the newer trailers out there). But here it is in all of its high-rez glory for you to enjoy!
Click on the thumbnail. DO IT! DO IT NOW!
How you choose to “enjoy” it is entirely up to you…but if whatever you do with it might be considered questionable in some circles, we don’t want to know about it. It does involve delicious cake after all.

October 25, 2009 at 4:25 pmHere’s the reason to get a PSP. Way too many of those games don’t feel like good handheld titles.

October 25, 2009 at 4:26 pmdid i mention im excited?
4 | Team Chicken
October 26, 2009 at 10:37 amWell, technically it’s the Fat Princess trailer that has been out for a while, but there are newer versions of it that show the Fistful of Cake logo at the end (”Coming Soon for PSP!”…that sort of thing). I believe they ran it at PAX and TGS. Hmmm, I wonder if we can post it here.
…Acquiring permission….
Stand by.

November 3, 2009 at 12:25 pmAny word on release date? Release window? Release quarter? Purty please?

November 3, 2009 at 1:08 pmWe should be able to talk about (at least) the release window very soon!

November 4, 2009 at 1:45 pmTeam Chicken, http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/games/detail/item156539/Fat-Princess/ said “Release date: Oct-Dec 2009″, “Media type: UMD” – is that true? (sorry for my english)
11 | Engineer
November 7, 2009 at 7:30 pmI want a some gameplay previews. Please?
12 | FrozenVillager
November 8, 2009 at 6:45 pmYeah, there hasn’t been a lot of discussion regarding this game since it’s reveal at E3. I’m pretty sure Sony is to blame for that. They really don’t like building hype for any game that isn’t on a Blu-ray.
13 | Engineer
November 12, 2009 at 6:32 pmNo body could possibly be excited. There is no previews of the gameplay nor story. We don’t even know if SVS is a good Fat Princess developer or not.
14 | Engineer
November 13, 2009 at 7:15 pmSrsly though, a gameplay preview would be nice.
15 | Team Chicken
November 16, 2009 at 3:01 pmWell, we’re still working on getting some kind of preview out there. There are a few “hands-on” write-ups and some screen shots on sites like IGN, Kotaku, and Destructoid, so those are always good sources for at least an unbiased opinion (compared to us telling you it’s the greatest thing EVER…which it IS!). Most are pointing to it looking and feeling a lot like the PS3, and we’ve done a ton to it since those write-ups to dial it in even more. Stay tuned!
16 | Team Chicken
November 16, 2009 at 3:05 pmOh, and @Engineer’s “We don’t even know if SVS is a good Fat Princess developer or not.”
Official SVS response:
We are…awesome.
We are…the bees knees.
We are…the cat’s pajamas.
We are…other really good things.
17 | Engineer
November 17, 2009 at 7:24 pmI am desperate to see some of the precious gameplay. Really desperate. I was hoping you’d prove me wrong by showing me a preview.
18 | Engineer
November 19, 2009 at 3:11 pmBtw, you took that the wrong way.
19 | Team Chicken
November 19, 2009 at 4:55 pmNo! You gave it the wrong way!
MWAAA HAAA HAAA!!!
By the way, we’ve a made a bit of headway on showing off some new FoC stuff! Stay tuned!

November 20, 2009 at 4:57 amTeam Chicken, could you please answer my questions?
Is that information correct:
Release window: Oct-Dec 2009
Europe will have UMD-version
(Official Sony’s page says so!)
And one more question – will the New Pork map of Cake be included ?
Thanks!

November 20, 2009 at 5:04 am“New Pork map of Cake”

November 22, 2009 at 2:04 pmCan’t Wait!!!!!
25 | Team Chicken
November 23, 2009 at 6:13 pm@Whiskasfan:
Yes, there will be a UMD in several territories. Sony’s Official sites should be able to verify which ones, like the European info you found.
The release window is still a bit in flux, but obviously we didn’t come out in October. Ha Ha!
We are very close and are working practically around the clock to wrap it up.
Yes, we have New Pork, and several other maps that haven’t been seen yet. Several of them are exclusive to our PSP version!

November 24, 2009 at 5:27 pmOMG so excited… CAKE CAKE CHICKENS MOAR CAKE! Hopefully it’ll be digital on the US store…

November 24, 2009 at 7:21 pmApproximate release date????? Please? I heard February 2010. If this is true then I am not sure why no one would have posted a release date which is only a couple months a way. Personally I would love to have it sooner, but I would rather wait for an awesome game than to get a half-baked one that sucks.

December 1, 2009 at 1:48 pmI doubt it. I just saw on GameFaqs that it will be released the 12th of february in Europe, so the US version will probably be around then

December 1, 2009 at 2:45 pmwell, since svs hasn’t given anybody a release I doubt gamefaqs already has one.

December 2, 2009 at 4:50 pmAlright, I think I have been calm enough now. You’ve given out no gamplay preview nor any ‘real trailers’, such as the original Fat Princess. You said you were the “bees knees”, so prove it, show us.
44 | Linnung
December 3, 2009 at 5:12 am….or at least tell when we can buy the game! I’m so sick of waiting!
45 | oxbow
December 3, 2009 at 3:05 pmEngineer, relax this game will be awesome even If you don’t trust the developers.
46 | Linnung
December 4, 2009 at 9:16 amYeah, after what I’ve seen from the PS3 version this can impossibly suck. We even get 50% more content! I just wist we could have a release date confirmed for the US…
47 | Team Chicken
December 4, 2009 at 11:41 amOK. I have been told that we can confirm that it will be a 2010 release. We would be surprised if the release was very staggered, as we’re hard at work with Sony on all versions of the game (worldwide). But Sony is a big place, as is the Earth, so there could very well be some varying plans for the release.
Anyway, we’re still tightening up the last of the nuts and bolts on this one, so take it off of your Christmas lists, and replace it with something nice…you know, like socks and underwear! Then, when you get the socks and underwear, you can return them to the store in the new year, get the money back, and put it back towards Fistful of Cake!
We can’t divulge anything more specific about the release date right now, but some folks seemed to have dug up some interesting info on various Sony sites.
Next subject: Preview.
We are actively trying to put together some screens and stuff to get out there very soon. Video is a bit of a different beast on PSP, so that might take a bit more effort. But we’re working on it. You have to understand though that we’re working around the clock to finish the game, let alone try to cook up some sneak peak stuff.
Patience, Grasshoppers.

December 7, 2009 at 12:18 pmWell, at least we know when it’s coming out, even though I’m a little dissapointed it doesn’t come before christmas. But anyway I’m glad you’re doing your best to get it all working, looking forward to that video you’re preparing:D
55 | oxbow
December 7, 2009 at 2:32 pmsproutz, though I have nothing to do with team chicken, they already said all of the game modes from the original will be there.
56 | Team Chicken
December 7, 2009 at 2:57 pm@sproutz: Yes, we definitely have soccer.
Someone else asked if there is blood, and have no fear, there absolutely is!
Oh, and @TechNick, that is indeed a project that we were working on at one point, but it doesn’t mean there will be no more Order Up! games. That game (in the video) is still something that we definitely want to see finished. We’re actively talking to various publishers about ways to continue it. For that matter, the future of Order Up! is in a similar boat. We’re actively looking for a publishing partner, and have already done a good amount of work on Order Up! 2.

December 7, 2009 at 5:34 pmI’ve been following your RPG project since April and am the one who rehosted the video on YouTube, I want to say it’s a very interesting looking game and I hope it gets picked up!
I want to ask though, your linkedin page shows you have a Wii title scheduled for next year, I assumed it was the RPG, but since it’s not certain that it’s even coming out, does this mean that this 2010 Wii game is an entirely different game and not the RPG nor Order Up! 2?

December 7, 2009 at 5:40 pmOh and I wanted to ask as well, why has there not been a Wii game starring Master Whiplash the Monkey yet? It’d make a kickass third-person shooter with Red and White MadWorld-style graphics or something. And the goal is to take over the world!
Just an idea. XD

January 16, 2010 at 7:53 amI have another question:
How much will the game cost? Because if the PS3 one costs 10, and this one has 50 percent more content, I’d say no more than 20, right?
67 | oxbow
January 18, 2010 at 7:20 am@muyloco- though I have nothing to do with team chicken or SVS I think that they are aiming to have it around normal psp price range.

January 18, 2010 at 8:02 amOh, then I guess ill have to decide to get this, or to get kingdom hearts BBS
69 | Team Chicken
January 18, 2010 at 12:29 pmOK, sorry for the silent treatment for a bit there. Bills to pay, ya know? Let me try to catch up with questions, which mostly look like release questions. We are VERY close. With that in mind, Sony is still finalizing their plans for release, since it’s a world-wide effort, including all of the Asian territories that not all games tend to get into. I don’t envy the marketing folks at all, they’ve got a lot to wrap their heads around.
The game appeared on the show floor at CES recently, albeit rather quietly since it’s not really a gaming-focused show. But it was well received. There were also several new screens released on a few websites just after Christmas, so if you didn’t catch those, check ‘em out.
PSN – Yes, the game will definitely be available on PSN. Sony is making a big push into the downloadable marketplace, and we’re no exception here.
And price. I honestly have no idea what the price point will be. That is entirely on Sony and the various offices around the world deciding how to work that out. Whatever it is, it will obviously (hopefully
not be intended to make the PS3 version, or this one, look like a clearly better deal. The two games offer different appeal in some key areas, so the goal would be that Fat Princess fans either have the option to consider both (not too $$) or are really happy that they get a great version of the game on whichever platform they have or choose to get.
Our goals here at SuperVillain are A) to make a great game, and B) to sell 1 zillion copies, and then use the proceeds to fund a weather control machine that we can take over the world with.

I just realized that I completely left your questions hanging. Sorry about that. I’ll post some more details on those projects soon, but as for the Wii project that was slated for this year, you’ll notice it’s gone.
We were working on the Wii version of a major film license (although this particular game was not tied directly to the films). We were really happy with the work we had done, and it was looking amazingly good for a game that was tasked with mimicking high-end photo-real 360/PS3 visuals as best as the machine could.
Unfortunately, there were major delays on the 360/PS3 version and the big bucks dictate that money is best spent focusing on those consoles with this type of game (3rd person cover/action shooter…think Gears of War-type gameplay). So the Wii version was eventually canceled. It happens quite a lot behind the scenes, especially these days with publishers being super careful with their money in the down economy. There are a ton of games that don’t see the light of day.
73 | Team Chicken
February 2, 2010 at 11:55 amJust got a bit of an update on the pricing. Now, of course, the final price isn’t set until all of the marketing and distribution plans are in place, but we have been told that it should be comparable to other titles that have made the PS3/PSN to PSP jump, such as PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe.
74 | sproutz
February 3, 2010 at 1:33 amdear team chicken by wat u hav sed above im presuming it will be out soon
also will u guys make patches if it has hackers or glitches and problems and stick with us instead of leaving the game once uv got ur money

February 15, 2010 at 3:03 am@Team Chicken
Wow, that’s terrible that the licensed game got canned.
Sounds oddly like War For Cybertron, but that’s coming out on Wii still, hmm, is the game you were making the Wii version of coming out this year, or was it delayed to next year or something? Shame you can’t say what it was, but I guess you’re tied to an NDA, bummer.
Do you guys have any big Wii games underwraps? Any possibility of your experience with this big licensed game living on into your next big Wii game… if you ever make one now?
