MAY 20

…because it could mean something.
…or it could mean nothing.
…or it could be something good, which ends up being nothing.
…or it could be nothing (but still good), which ends up being something…also still good.

Right.

…or it could just make you chuckle (also still good) because that happens now and then.

It doesn’t look like he likes the PS3 Move controller very much………

It’s probably that strange ball-lookin thingy on top…………………..

    Love fat princess btw

It’s not a spatula, so Chef isn’t quite sure how it works. We certainly know how it works though! And that ball on top is strangely satisfying. It’s squeezable like a bicycle horn! Honk! And it changes color! Honk! Change!

…And that $100 for the PlayStation Move Starter kit all of the sudden seems like a fantastic idea!

I can’t even tell you how excited this made me, even using caps lock wouldn’t help. There aren’t any cooking games on PS3, I smell gold mine.

Oh this brings up so many factors!

    Pros
    - The game runs in HD.
    - Much better online infrastructure (online cook off arena = YES)
    - More sophisticated motion controller
    - Thanks to the HDD on every system, DLC seems much more likely
    - The first of it’s kind on the PS3 system
    - Much larger disc likely means more content
    - Could be one of the early titles for the Move

    Cons
    - Genre unproven on the PS3
    - PS3 development costs are much higher than Wii
    - BluRay Discs cost much more to manufacture than DVDs
    - Move doesn’t come with the system, so those that don’t buy it would have to play with a regular controller
    - Move controller still doesn’t have a ‘killer app’ that would convince players to buy one
    - Many have said that the pointer functionality of the Move is a bit more laggy than that of the Wii Remote

    Then you have questions!

    - Will it be a disc based game or a PSN title?
    - Will it require the Move to play?
    - Does this mean it will be PS3 only?
    - Is this even a sequel or maybe just a remake/spin off?
    - Will it be at E3?
    - Does this even mean that it will be on PS3? Perhaps they show the chef not being able to figure it out because THEY THEMSELVES couldn’t figure it out!
    - Will SuperVillain Studios still make the WiiWare Spinoff of Order Up that features Wii MotionPlus gameplay where you run smaller snack shops rather than full resturants (ice cream parlor, pizza shop, cake store) and feature online versus?

I NEED ANSWERS! Henchmen always get the short end of the stick…

    Hi,

I really like Order up! It’s simply the best cooking game I played. It’s really a shame to don’t see more of this game on shelf store. The interface of the game is really intuitive and works very well.

I really hope to see Order Up! 2 some day. If the game is so fun than the first one, it will be a pleasure.

I’ve some ideas for Order Up! 2, if I can propose…

    - A way to customize the decoration of the restaurant (examples: colors, tables, clothes of the waiter and cook, etc.)

    - More restaurant with differents kinds of foods or type of restaurant (example: asiatic food, steakhouse, seafood, etc.)

    - In every restaurant, many “meals” (apetizer, main course, dessert, etc.) for each table

    - A way to play in team, with a chef an the assistants could be the other(s) player(s)

    - More customers with specific spice(s) needs or specific need(s) (ex: cooking level of specific meat, for example steak). In higher difficulty level, if we don’t satisfy their needs, they would leave the restaurant and the “reputation” of the restaurant could decrease…

    - Add a reputation or more ways that can have influence on star rating of the restaurant (example: if we have a bad review from the health inspector, it could decrease star rating, if customers are not happy with their foods, etc.)

    - In higher difficulty level, an obligation to serve more than one table at the same time (the first row of orders could be table 1 and the second row, table 2, etc.)

    - In higher difficulty level, a time limit to serve a table

    - In higher difficulty level, if all the meals are not serve hot, the customers will leave the restaurant and give bad feedback (and the time that meals remains hot will be shorter in higher difficulty level)

    - Some kind of “cook wars” (example: the better food of the same recipe)

    - More mini-games. I really love the small games (the health inspector, the rats, etc.)

    - In the restaurant more classy, a way to propose some specific wine to fit with the food order (in the game manual, it could have some recommandations of wines with meals and if we propose the correct wine for the meal to our customers, they give more money, better tip and leave positive feedback)

Probably more difficult to do, but a simple suggestion…

    - More customizations to the menu rather than simply choose a complete line to add specifics recipes at the same times. These customizations (the choice of menu) could have an influence on the popularity of the restaurant and the number of people coming to.

About my suggestion for cook wars, I forgot to mention that I suggest some cook wars in multiplayer (againt another player). I know that there’s a cook war at the end of the first Order Up!, but I think it will be great to have more cook wars against another player…

OK, let’s answer a few questions.

First, we are looking at many different ways to bring the world of Order Up! to new platforms! We are currently working to get the first game running on PS3 with Playstation Move. We’re also looking into what we can do to test the waters with new features, but we’re not sure yet. Working and looking good first…additions and features next.

The game will be a PSN download, which allows it to come straight from SuperVillain Studios, which means that if it’s successful, it will pour directly into helping Order Up! 2 move forward. Sweet!

And again, we are also looking at various other ways to get Order Up! out there and expanded.

    Stay Tuned!

YES! I’d love to replay Order Up! in HD! The art in Order Up was really well done, I can only imagine how great it looks on the PS3. Even if new content doesn’t make it in I still think it would be a great game to showcase the Move. (Multiplayer would be a sweet addition though…)

As for trying to expand Order Up!’s reach, I think the iPhone or iPad would be a great platform to get it on. The iPad especially with the larger screen, even without the motion controls you could use finger gestures to mimic most of the actions, such as using a knife or stirring stew in a pot. Throw in Game Center achievements/leaderboards and maybe sign on with a publisher like Chillingo (for advertising) and you could become the next Doodle Jump/Angry Birds/Cut the Rope!
Order Up has that pick up and play appeal that made those games so popular.

Oh and 3DS. You guys should seriously look into that just because of how awesome it is.

Order Up is the best game I have among all my Wii games.
I would almost die for a sequel for the Wii.
But people, what is this about crying for HD graphics for this game?
This is art work and not 3d rendered stuff that would require HD.
This is one kind of a game where higher resolution doesn’t enhance anything.
Better spend the time in the art work to make it look even sweeter and work on longer playtime.
The Wii is the only right system for this kind of a game.
    Keep up the good work.

    @loop

Well, I wasn’t “crying for HD”. I was simply saying that the game would look great in HD, which it would. For one thing, artwork has the potential to look much better in high definition as the increased resolution lets you see much more detail in it (considering the artwork itself is high enough of a resolution). As for your other point, most of the game actually IS rendered in 3D. Displaying the game in an HD resolution would make it much crisper and cleaner looking (although for some reason it does look much better on my LCD TV than any of my other Wii games).
